November 17 Tornado Disaster Response
We welcome your assistance in responding to the many families affected by the tornados in the area. This page will continue to update with ways that you can provide help, volunteer, and share.
As of Monday, November 25 we received a great offering to help Washington Crossroads United Methodist Church continue to feed and serve the residents and responders. Here is what you can continue to do:
1) Pray for the residents of the affected areas.
2) You can still drop off or send a donation. Please mark for Tornado Relief.
3) Realize that there will be a specific time and need for individuals to help with the clean up. The time is NOT right now. At this time, those with Disaster Response Training are being used. This is to insure the safety of those who help. We are trying to find opportunities for others to serve in some capacity. We hope to soon put out a call for help to assist and serve.
Here is what can be done right now:
Please do not drop off clothing, food, or other items unless we specifically ask.
Our local church will coordinate with the emergency teams
and obtain items as they are needed.
There is also a way to give directly to Crossroads UMC in Washington. They are coordinating much of the relief; food, shelter, etc. The funds will go to purchase more supplies as needed. Link to http://www.crossroads4all.org/
